Pumpkins & Other Symbols Of Fall
Fall is a season that paints our world with oranges, browns, deep reds and all the warm colors. One of the most iconic symbols of fall is the pumpkin. Pumpkins are the star of the show in a variety of DIY projects and home décor, from painted table centerpieces to carved Jack-o’-lanterns.
Other iconic symbols of fall include the vibrant colors of fall leaves. Leaves of all the amazing fall colors and pumpkins together are perfect for creating wreaths or decorative displays. You’ll also find the warm fall colors widely used in other décor elements like cushions, rugs, and even in repainting old furniture.

Another significant marker of fall is the scent of cinnamon. Use cinnamon-scented candles or homemade potpourri with cinnamon sticks to make your home smell like fall. Pumpkin spice is another favorite of the fall season.
This beloved spice blend is often used in a multitude of ways, from enhancing the flavor of your coffee to serving as the inspiration for homemade air fresheners. All these elements combined help in creating a warm, cozy, and authentic fall ambiance in your home. But next, we’ll talk about some budget-friendly ways to spruce up your home for fall.
Budget Friendly Fall Home Décor
Budget-friendly fall décor can be as simple as utilizing what nature provides. Collect fallen leaves and press them between pages of a heavy book for a few days. After the leaves dry, arrange them in a large, clear glass bowl for a centerpiece or string them together to create a pretty garland.
Another idea is to collect pine cones and acorns from outside. Then spray paint the acorns and pine cones in gold or leave natural for a rustic look. Place them in a bowl or use as filler for clear glass vases. Thrift stores often have plenty of inexpensive items that can be repurposed with a bit of creativity. I’ve bought packs of fake fall leaves at the dollar stores that look pretty realistic.
Another idea is to cut old sweaters and sew them into cozy pillow covers. And old picture frames can be painted in fall colors and filled with pressed leaves or family photos.
Finally, consider making homemade candles using mason jars, soy wax, and essential oils in fall scents like cinnamon or pumpkin spice. These DIY décor ideas are not only affordable but also add a personal touch to your fall decorations.
